On Saturday, December 20, 2014, Sweet Candy Café will deliver and donate holiday gifts to 15 beds in the Pediatrics Unit for patients who are in the Hospital for the Holidays at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton, North Carolina.
Felicia Evans Long, co-founder of Sweet Candy Café, is donating the gifts in honor of her husband and co-founder of Sweet Candy Café, Tim Long, who passed away suddenly in August 2014. He worked for George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C., actively participated in mission assignments in Guatemala and Guyana and enjoyed his healthcare career.
“I can’t think of a better way to honor my husband by giving back to the community during this holiday season,” says Evans Long. “I thank Southeastern Regional Medical Center for the opportunity to partner with them in this effort.”

About Sweet Candy Café
From “Pop Rocks” to “Good & Plenty,” “Rock Candy” to “Mary Janes” and other candies, Lumberton, N.C.-based Sweet Candy Café located at 212 N. Chestnut, satisfies old school and new school cravings in-store and online. Sweet Candy Café opened its doors in November 2012 by event planner and Lumberton native Felicia (Lisa) Evans Long and her husband Tim Long in the historic downtown of Lumberton. Patrons from ages “1 to 92” enjoy the “kid in the candy store” environment created by Evans Long and her team.
The store’s grand opening was nearly derailed by an October 10, 2012 fire that destroyed several local businesses in downtown Lumberton. The Longs rebuilt with the help of building owner Dick Taylor, friends, family and community.
